  • How is everyone tonight?  Hopefully everyone is enjoying their Friday night (which if you aren't out at the bars is probably about over).  My Friday evening was pretty good, but it went way too fast.  Right after work I rushed home and hand to leave to go to a wedding way to the south of Indy.  We were a few minutes late to the rehearsal, but we weren't the last one's there, so that's ok :)

The rehearsal wasn't that big of a deal really, and the dinner was ok.  They had some really good cheesy mashed potatoes.  There wasn't any alcohol though and I was pretty bummed out about that.  I had a chaotic day at work (well the whole week) and I really really needed a nice cold beer or a stiff 7-7 with a nice squeeze of lemon in it.  On the way back home I was thinking that I had some cold Corona's at home, but I got home and totally forgot about them.  I don't know why...I got home and took the dog for a run/walk and just spaced out about it.

Tomorrow the wedding is at 5pm, so it will be  nice that I *may* actually get to sleep in a little bit.  Probably not too late, just until 9am or so, but it will still be pretty darn nice.  I do have to go pick up my tux, so there will be something for me to do during the day other than just laying around being lazy.

I really want to see a movie, I haven't been to the movies in quite a long time (for me).  I'd really like to see that new Mark Wahlberg movie.

Anyone see the news about that guy that was tapped to run the messed up juvenile facility in Marian county?  He put on his resume that he had a Masters degree from this university in New York.  This facility is now shut down because they were a Diploma mill...you basically pay for a degree and don't have to do any work for it.  Think of it as the speed Sally Struthers plan!  At first the county wasn't budging on his hiring, they claimed that the Masters wasn't required and it didn't factor into their decision, but they thankfully eventually folded under public pressure and withdrew their offer to the guy.

I just think that people flat out lying on their resumes are a bunch of bull.  I'm sure that the problem is even more widespread than what is talked about on the news.  I'm sure that if all the people that had resumes were audited, I bet that an easy 10-20% of the people would have such horrendous errors an lies...

    Ok, I'm off to bed.

  • I'm glad you're home again!

I am swamped with school stuff, so I never get a chance to comment on/read people's xangas much. I am working on my MSW (at an accreditted school!) and I KNOW how much work it is...boy do I know...it's offensive to see someone out there who has a "degree" without having to go through all the effort of earning it.

Speaking of that, I have to get ready for my second week of internship now!
