I’ve spent the past two and a half weeks down at Ft. Knox. It’s been long and hot. After the first few days I’ve given up on keeping track of how long we’ve been here and what day of the week it is. I still have a week left.
Everything has been non-stop. I’m talking days beginning at 0530 (5:30am) and ending after 2300 (11:00pm). Some nights were until 0200 (2:00am).
The heat has been ever present and unyielding. When you figure in the humidity it’s nearly unbearable and just saps all the energy out of you.
I’m not quite acclimated to the heat, but I’m getting used to the never ending days.
It’s getting late, and I’m going to get some sleep because tomorrow and the next day are going to be 24 hour operations in the field.
