Shitty Neighbors
You know, I've never been a fan of fences. I think that they are annoying and an eyesore. When one of our neighbors put up a fence before we moved in I was pissed and I'm still annoyed that they don't trim their fence.
Then there are the neighbors that moved in about December. I'm seriously pissed and annoyed at them. Let us count the ways.
First, they have these annoying little dogs that bark and yap and bark and yap. As if their barking isn't enough when their owners are taking them outside they have began to tie their dogs to a chair outside on a 3 foot leash. Hello, are you freakin' Asian red necks? The dogs are so annoying. They run from them the second they are outside. Oh, remember these guys? They are the same one that I caught letting their dog shit right in the middle of my front yard.
Then their is the easement in the back of the yard. They refuse to mow it. Seriously? It's your yard mow the grass.
They also mow their grass way too low and it's going to die once the temperature climbs.
Tonight I take the out dog outside and they have their sprinkler going in the front yard and it was going about six feet into my yard. Last time it was going I didn't do anything but I did tonight. Night watering is terrible for your yard and increases the chance of fungi. Not to mention that I'm extremely anal about my watering regime, ie 1-2" per area per week in one or two heavy waterings. I'm anal that my water only goes in my yard. I also use timers so that I don't forget to shut the water off.
I went to their faucet and turned down the water volume. Unfortunately I couldn't find a happy medium and the volume was way down in order to keep it out of my yard and you know what....I could care less.
I'm sick of you yappy dogs.
I'm sick of you shitty lawn care.
I'm sick of you shitty car parked in the street.
Now I will continue the passive aggressiveness and contact our HOA and have those things remedied.
I think that it's safe to say that we'll be putting up a fence sometime when we get the money for one.
Anyone else have shitty neighbors? How in the world do you deal with them without being an asshole?

My neighbor, who I call Weed Lady, could be seen as a shitty neighbor or as a great neighbor. I choose shitty because she annoys me. She is cultivating weeds in her front yard, she put little stones around almost her entire front yard to make it a 'weed garden'. Anytime a tree sprout pops up (ands it ALWAYS close to the property line), she nurtures it. I don't want some shitty tree growing into my yard and I swear the roots fucked up the sewer because they just put in a new hydrant. Also, she has this pull trailer thing that is HUGE, and really tall. Its like a Tahoe but taller and uglier that is in her driveway and hasn't moved in 3 years. I think they store a grill in there and grill out sometimes. Who grills in the front yard? She is also annoying as shit to talk to and has an ugly fro. Oh and her dog barks constantly and he is fittingly named "Barkley".
She is a good neighbor because when I was having issues with Penny digging under the other side neighbor fence, she caught her and put her in her yard. That is the only redeeming quality.
I ignore her as much as possible. I keep my head down or act like I don't see her. I also don't spend any time in the front yard except when it is absolutely necessary. Any guy I'm dating she seems to LOVE and chats them up. She hires them for yard work. Ugh, she annoys me.
RYC: I think he wrote that to my parents. It definetely wasn't a court document or anything. I don't think they ever saw it though.
umm... yes, i do! there's the one guy that told us that our house was too small for a couple with a baby. it's a three bedroom/two bathroom house. exactly what do i need? and he also told us that we "owed" him $350 because he put up a fence before we bought the house and it's on one side of our property line. their garbage can blows over all the time and i find their garbage in our yard. and when they cut the grass, they throw any garbage that's in their yard but close to mine in my yard. i'm pretty sure they also put my garbage can right smack in the middle of my driveway one day. i hate those people!!! the people behind me had dogs too and they barked all the time. i hate yappy dogs. but they just moved. thankfully! i hate neighbors... i wish i lived in the country...
oh and there are the neighbors that think it's okay to blast their music like we live in the ghetto...
The neighbors to the left of our house have mowed their lawn a total of 2 times this spring and each time it has taken at least 2 people and 2 days to do it. They had their families over to help with the lawn and pulling weeds- it didn't help. I'm not sure how my husband and I can manage to upkeep and improve the exterior and interior of our house, but they can't even mow their lawn every week (which, with the rain we get, it needs to be done 2x per week for it not be over your ankles). They also never pick up the newspapers and ads that get thrown into our driveways and I usually pick theirs up, since it has usually been drenched and I'm already outside with Quinn.
So, not shitty neighbors- just lazy
There are two houses on our block for sale, and we feel we're helping them by keeping our house up to make the neighborhood look better.
