Uggghhhh, what a way to end a pretty good day! I’ll get with the shi#%y situation that ended me day, then get one with the not so bad parts!
I get home from dinner and turn on my laptop, sit down in bed and check my e-mail. Everything is going good for my night. I’m reading my messages when I hear what sounds like the shower water transfer switch being released. You know that little thing you flip to make the water go to the shower head? I think what the hell was that? I get up and walk to the bathroom to find the ceiling leaking water. I figure it is the toilet above me overflowing so I run upstairs and beat on the door.
After a minute or so a guy finally answers the door and I tell him he has something leaking. He looks at me and points into his room at towels all over the floor and says “Yeah, I know it’s been going a few minutes”. I ask him if he has called the front desk (which is actually about a mile and a half away) and he’s like no. I then raise my voice for the first time since I’ve been here and tell him to pick up the phone and call the front desk so someone can stop it since the toilet isn’t going to fix itself.
I come downstairs, calls the front desk, and make a towel damn to keep the water in the bathroom. Right about then I heard another drop fall, and water is leaking onto all my food, hygiene products and silverware on my countertop. At this point I’m about ready to strangle someone then the door rings. It was maintenance who actually got here remotely quick. He doesn’t even walk into my room and just asks how many towels I need. Ugggh, I ask for a half dozen and he’s says “Dunno if I can get that”. About 4 minutes later he comes with 4 towels.
What a way to end my night. I was extremely pissed about having water hit my food and other stuff, so I sent an e-mail off to the chief of housing here. I told him in a nutshell that there is no way in hell I’m eating food that was contaminated by toilet water and I wanted to know what system was in place to replace it. Chances are there is no system in place, and I’ll just have to pitch the food, but it made me feel a little better.
That was my excitement, and it’s already 12:15 so this will be a quick wrap up on the rest of the day.
I had PT and then class. Then after class I did some shopping to prepare for the field. I did get in my dress blue uniform today (basically the equivalent of a tux). Luckily it fit pretty darn good! I’m excited to wear it for our dining out, not necessarily for the event, but because the event is the day before I get to head home!
I golfed 9 holes today by myself and had fun. After golf I ate dinner with 20 or so people from my class, it was fun. Then I came home to the indoor rain.
I was planning on a good post, but just had this crappy one, sorry. I’m tired and am now in a sour mood. I hopefully wake up to a better mood.
Anyone else think Castro is dead now?

Ok, that sucks.
I’m not really sure what I did, but I just started running one day and took two steps and thought I was going to start crying it hurt so bad. Ít only hurts with harder impact (like running, jumping, or galloping as I found out giving horsey-back rides to the kids last weekend). So I’m not really sure when I hurt it. I had run two days before that, and it hadn’t bothered me during that time.
Thanks for the advice. We’re gonna see what happens this week and then I’m supposed to go back to the doctor next week.
