  • Good evening everyone, hopefully you are doing fine tonight.  I'm ok, no better and no worse than I have every night for the last few weeks or so.  I'm ready to get out of here, but tomorrow will be three weeks to the day when I can get in my car and start driving home.  I think that I can almost say that time is starting to wind down now.

Today was a pretty laid back day, so that was nice.  I felt a little better today so that was an improvement.  I have no big plans for the weekend, I do have one final volunteer event this Saturday, and then all my hours should be filled (all 24 volunteer hours).  I'll probably end up just taking it pretty easy most of the weekend.  I wouldn't mind going to Atlanta to catch a Braves game on Saturday or Sunday.  I have wanted to go to one but that 2 1/2 hour or so drive to Atlanta is the big deterrent.  The drive is just so darn boring, if you have never driven 140 miles of interstate with nothing to see besides blacktop and other cars you have no idea...Granted, the drive from my place to my parents is about the same time and a similar distance, but that drive doesn't carry the amount of dread that the Atlanta drive has.

I cannot wait to get back home and have central air again.  I am starting to go crazy with this hotel air conditioner.  It always runs and I cannot get the temperature right.  I'm hot or I'm cold, I feel like I'm going through freakin' menopause or something.  Plus, I'm so sick and tired of hearing the unit continually run.  The only quiet that I've had in my room since I've been here has been for the couple hours that a thunder storm knocked the power out.  It was amazing how quiet it was.  I think that when I'm home I'm just going to sit in the nice quiet room and savor the absence of noise.

On the History channel right now they have a special on the history of ice cream.  It's really making me want some ice cream.  I'm such a huge ice cream fan, and watching this show is making me go crazy!  Ever since I've been dieting, I have only had Dippin' Dots once, and that was a medium compared the the X-Large that I ate most of the summer.  The only cold treat that I have in my room is some popsicles, and that just won't cut it...I guess that tomorrow I will have to go get ice cream someplace.

Speaking of tomorrow, it looks like tomorrow evening we are having a little gathering for 10 of us or so.  I'm looking forward to it, since we'll be having grilled food, and that will be only my second non-bulk prepared meal since before the wedding.  If you have ever went months on end eating prepared food you eventually begin to lose the desire to eat out.  I can go out to eat at a remotely nice restaurant and the food just doesn't appeal to me, even though it should be a good meal.  For the past three weeks I've ate a ton of subs at a variety of restaurants, not because I really want a sub, but because nothing else sounds good.  Of course I still want a flippin' Chipotle burrito, but that will be in a couple weeks...well unless I end up going to Atlanta to the Braves game.  If I do go there, I will definitely take a detour to a Chipotle.

Did anyone a week or so ago see the article on the study that was done one the UK and parenting.  I'll summarize it real quick for you, basically it said that the average parent in the UK devotes about 19 minutes a day to their children.  Can I just say HOLY FREAKIN' CRAP!  How can a parent only give their kids that little time?  It just scares me what the generation of children that only get that little time will grow up to become.  Children need parental love and attention, and kids will try to get attention from anyone if they can't get these from their parents.  How will they act out?  Where will they end up?  What will their children be like?  Is the generation of whiners going to produce a generation that is in such desperate need of attention that they cannot function in day to day life?

Ok, it's after 11 and and 5am will come really fast, so everyone have a great day tomorrow!
