Good evening everyone, how are you doing? I'm pretty good, today was a nice day for the middle of the week. Plus, the week is over half over so time is slowly ticking by! Yeah! I've really enjoyed all the visitors today to my page, it's been nice, because this place was starting to get kind of dead. Not like I'd really stop posting, but it's a little more motivating to go the extra effort if you get some feedback. I view Xanga as much as my own little journal of my life as something to share with the world. I have been keeping this blog for about a year and a half and that is the longest that I've ever kept any type of journal or diary thing...I really believe that it's something that I enjoy.
Speaking of diaries, it seems that the art of diary keeping is slowly reviving because of blogs. When I read some history books it appears to be such a common occurrence just 50 or 60 years ago, but somewhere between WWII and TV becoming the center of a lot of Americans lives the art of keeping a diary faded by the wayside. Could there also be a relationship with people slowly fading away from writing their hopes, dreams, and fears into a journal; and there slowly being increases in our society suffering more mental health problems? Who knows, if I was a psychology major it really would make an interesting study, because their may be some relationship there.
Now on for what I did today. My day started out like every other morning, I had PT at 5:30. Then class, lunch, class, and then home. Today was a little different in the evenings because T's son had his 13th birthday today. I feel bad because he is here and not at home to celebrate with his entire family and friends. Last week I ordered a Dell DJ mp3 player for him, and it wasn't supposed to ship until today, but Dell came through again and it arrived yesterday. I had to go to the store and pick up some type of wrapping paper or bag for it. I went to the store a little bit before we were going to go to the restaurant to eat. While I was there I decided that I'd spice up the the gift a little bit so I got him Phase 10 (one of the card games that Amanda and I like), a flashing tiara, some hillbilly teeth, and these noise making magnet things. The bag I found for him was absolutely perfect, it had a grumpy old guy on it and the words "Happy Friggin' Birthday", it just really fit him. I felt bad since his sister is here to, and I didn't want to leave her out so I got here the little game 20Q. I think that she was as pleased as she could be about it, in fact she sat there for a good 20 minutes not saying a word engrossed in it. I really got a kick out of it because she usually is really talkative.
Dinner was pretty good, I had a grilled hot wings salad. It was really excellent but quite hot. I never thought something that spicy would be good on a salad but it was. After dinner I headed home but saw a fairly new car wash and decided to stop to wash my car. The car wash actually did a good job (something surprising for down here) and afterwards I decided that I would vacuum my car out. It was quite nice because the car wash had free vacuuming and it actually did a pretty good job. It had pretty good suction and finally got some of the dirt out of my car since the last place I went didn't do a very good job. I really can't wait until I get home and can use my shopvac to really do a good job, but this place did ok.
That pretty much sums up this evening...and it was a nice change.
Today I found out that our 5 day FTX (Field Training eXercise) is actually more than that. We are going to be locked in the motor pool all weekend, so it is pretty much 8 days now. Uggghhh, it should be a nice long hot 8 days, but there is one positive to it, that is after the FTX it is my LAST week in Georgia! Yes!!!! I can't wait...and truth be told, 8 days is nothing to be able to get home! I can't believe that the 'real' world is under a month away now.
I'm really tired tonight for some reason. I slept ok, but not great last night, so hopefully tonight is better.
Ok, time to go to bed, have a good day everyone!
